| Zenith 601xl Heads, Don Walker |
Hi Ron
It has been a while, but I wanted to give you some feedback about the ea-81 heads and intake risers you did
for me last winter. I git sidetracked so it was a while before I got them installed on the engine, but I have been flying
it again for about six weeks now.
To jog your memory, I had the large valves installed with the heavy springs and the
head were milled .030 and you sent me a pair of your aluminum risers to improve fuel intake flow on the ea81. As far as power
goes, I achieved about 125 rpm increase static. In flight it is probably closer to 200 rpms. The intake riser seem to have
helped quite a bit.I am very happy with that and I can tell you that the compression is dead on all the way around. Egt readings
are usally within 10 degrees of each other in cruise... around 350 plus or minus depending on power setting. My goals were
well achieved with what you did and I want to thank you for your help. This little engine runs soomth as silk now, my plane
climbs better... about 1300 fpm in this 95 degree weather, not bad! I'll bet this winter it will climb at 1600 fpm
Best
Wishes and thanks, Don Walker

Hello Ron
Just letting you know
that we collected our engine today from the shipping agent and everything looks great. Shipping crate was undamaged which
is a good sign.
You were right, I was very impressed with what you supplied. We are now looking forward to getting the
engine mounted to the airframe. I'll send you some pics when we have the engine mounted to our Hornet airframe.
I am
aiming for the first flight in November 2011.
Many thanks,
Regards Jack Hart, Australia.
